Our research primarily uses brain imaging and other tools from cognitive neuroscience to understand human brain structure and function in health and disease.
Our team has a diverse range of expertise, with strengths in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (including structural, functional, diffusion and spectroscopic), electroencephalography, transcranial magnetic stimulation, positron emission tomography, complex systems and network science, and clinical neuropsychology.
We also conduct studies that combine lifestyle- and technology-based interventions (including physical exercise, brain training, brain stimulation, mindfulness practices and virtual reality). Our aim is to develop novel, accessible, and effective interventions while minimising harms.
The lab comprises six primary streams of research, organised into two divisions:
Brain division, headed by Prof Alex Fornito and
Mental Health division, headed by Prof Murat Yücel.
